OnePlus 6 and 6T get a new Android 11 Open Beta

| |

OnePlus has been releasing updates at a rapid pace in the past few months, and it’s no different with their newest release of OxygenOS 11. With two builds out since July 1st, this new update brings many benefits to both OnePlus 6 and 6T users according to their blog post on Medium: “Improved battery usage optimization algorithm; improved network performance for Wi-Fi connections.”

OnePlus released its first Open Beta of OxygenOS 11 based on Android 10 back in early July ahead or schedule after promising an increase from 8GB RAM up to 12GB as well as optimizations throughout the phone. The latest build was just released yesterday (August 15th) bringing more improvements such as better power management across multiple applications that result in faster load.

The latest release of the Android 11 Open Beta is now available for two more phones. OxygenOS 11 on top brings with it numerous improvements that have been made to background process management, battery life optimization, VoWiFi fixes and Work-Life Balance enhancements among others. The most important bugfixes are related to enabling Wi-fi when a screen is locked as well as making sure videos play smoothly in YouTube apps while other unknown bugs were resolved too.

All in all, if you are on the beta train with your OnePlus 6 or 6T, this new update is something to look forward too. It comes over-the-air and requires a 191MB download – but it’s worth getting for those of us still clinging onto their phones from last year like me! The latest build offers some exciting improvements that make using my phone more enjoyable than ever before. On the other hand, Android 11 itself is almost one year old now, so the sooner the stable update goes out, the better.
